About Me

This is Mrs. Spectacular.

A little creepy, but it's hard to draw a non-creepy stick person...

No, wait. This is Princess Spectacular.

She is currently living in a box.

Princesses don't belong in boxes. They're too great for that.

We are too great for all of that! We are all people who need to show the world what we can do. We are more than bikinis and diets, high heels, make up or the newest trend. We are all princesses who want to show the world just what we are made of!

Art in all its wondrous forms can be a cure for a wounded soul, a voice for those unable to put those
emotions into words, a way to make a difference in the world, a connection between people or even a wake up call. Art is also what inspires, motivates and decorates our lives on a daily basis.

Who are you?

Or rather, who am I? I am a princess who grew up around art. My entire family is gifted in arts, even those who don't realise it. My father designs his own large scale projects and then makes them (such as security gates). My mother has found her own love for crafts only a few years ago – it is never too late to start.

I write, draw, crochet, bake, cook, make jewellery (sometimes) and have a strange love of cutting hair (which is a pity for my own hair that never gets the chance to grow long). Often it is hard to embrace myself for who I am. Old insecurities have a way of seeping in, but then I look at what I can do, and it forces me to rethink any negative thoughts. I would like to share this world with others.

Why art?

Art helps you to understand yourself. It helps you find out who you really are. It allows you to be quiet and listen, finding peace even for just a moment. Art accepts you for being you. It doesn't judge whether you look different, act different or feel different than expected.

So, why art? Because you can be you without fear.

A challenge

I have a challenge for you today. Try something, make something new and unique. It can be anything. You can put toilet paper in a pyramid, you can do something new with your breakfast, you can draw a small picture on a sticky note and paste it on your computer screen or you can just look around you at the different forms of art.

Share your personality through art and be true to yourself – be the best you can be instead of the best you think others want you to be.
